Gurranabraher Credit Union Limited in Cork City is one of the largest Credit Unions in the City serving 16,000 members and managing assets in excess of €100m. The Credit
Union wishes to appoint a MLRO, DPO & Governance Officer to its governance and compliance function.
Reporting to the CEO, the main responsibilities of the role are to:
As Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)
- Implement and update anti-money laundering policies, procedures, systems, monitoring, reporting and training.
As Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Implement and update data protection policies, procedures, systems, monitoring, reporting and training.
- Ensure an in-depth understanding and adherence to GDPR.
As Governance Officer
- Ensure the co-ordination of internal audit, risk and compliance reviews and the overseeing the implementation
of recommendations. - Liaise with relevant statutory authorities in relation to anti-money laundering, data protection and outsourcing.
- Manage and monitor vendor contracts governing outsourced activities.
- Assist the CEO and Management Team with organisational governance, including meetings, policies and
procedures. - Maintain a detailed knowledge of Central Bank compliance requirements and EU Directives and domestic
regulations relating to anti-money laundering and data protection.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of three years’ experience acting as a MLRO, DPO, Compliance Officer, Governance Officer,
Internal Auditor in a financial services environment or professional practice. - A relevant degree and/or a professional qualification is desirable.
- Experience dealing with regulatory and statutory authorities would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent IT and data analytics skills.
- Very strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including report writing.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
