Residents Associations in Gurranabraher, Knocknaheeny, Churchfield, Shanakiel & Sundays Well engaged in friendly but very serious competition while preparing their estates and gardens for the Gurranabraher Credit Union Tidy Estate Competition 2019.   The Judging Committee visited the  Estates who had applied to be considered for this prestigious award over past number of weeks.

Michael O Connell, Chair of Gurranabraher Credit Union said at the presentation of the awards “the competition was designed to help recognise the hard work that residents put into maintaining their Residential Areas. We see the effort that volunteer associations make for their communities and we wanted to recognise that by organising this competition. The standard was up again from last year, with residents of each estate outdoing themselves, demonstrating an enviable pride in their area. It is imperative that we as a community organisation continue to support other community organisations wishing to better the community they live in.”

All estates – new and established – were encouraged to enter. Open to all residential streets and estates in the Credit Unions common bond. Areas such as Litter Management, Floral Displays, Creativity, Environmental and Community Spirit were all considered by the independent Judges.   The judges visited each entrant during the month of July and and shortlist was drafted.
